Microneedling at AQP – Not like anywhere else

norsk versjon?

Many clinics offer microneedling, but at AQP we do it differently – and it starts with truly understanding what microneedling does to your skin. With my background in biochemistry, I tailor every treatment with precision – both technically and biochemically.

🔍 What is microneedling – and what happens in your skin?

Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, uses microscopic needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These microchannels trigger the skin’s natural repair process by activating fibroblasts and increasing the production of:

  • Collagen type I and III – strengthens and firms the skin

  • Elastin – improves elasticity and bounce

  • Glycosaminoglycans (e.g. hyaluronic acid) – increases moisture retention

The result is smoother skin texture, improved tone, radiance, reduced pore size, fewer lines – and skin that simply behaves younger.

🛠 Tailored technique – not one treatment fits all

At AQP, every treatment starts with an individual assessment:

  • Skin thickness and condition

  • Desired results

  • Area to be treated (e.g. delicate eye area vs. body)

We adjust needle depth from 0.25 mm to 2.5 mm – deeper for scars and stretch marks, shallower for sensitive areas. We also adapt technique and movement depending on the treatment goal.

We treat:

💧 The cocktails – what truly sets us apart

Microneedling alone stimulates skin regeneration. But at AQP, we combine it with carefully selected cocktails – and this is where my biochemistry background truly makes a difference.

These cocktails contain active ingredients that work with the skin’s own processes. We select the formula based on:

  • Molecular weight and ingredient structure

  • Skin pH and barrier status

  • Your individual goals and skin condition

We never use a “one-size-fits-all” product. Every treatment is evaluated, adapted, and customized – just for you.

👩‍⚕️ Before & after your treatment

Before the treatment:

  • You will receive a medical consent form via SMS to sign with BankID

  • We perform a skin analysis and build a personalized plan

  • Avoid acids, retinol, and sun exposure for 5 days prior

  • Arrive with clean skin, no makeup

After the treatment:

To ensure the best healing and results, follow these instructions carefully. Your skin will be more sensitive, and proper care is essential.

For the first 72 hours, avoid:

  • Exercise, sauna, hot baths, and overheating

  • Alcohol and stimulants

  • Makeup on the treated area

  • Peeling, exfoliants, acids, and retinol

What should you do instead?

At AQP, we guide you in selecting the right post-treatment products.

💧 Add our Korean jelly mask after the treatment in-clinic for only 200 NOK per area. It calms the skin, locks in moisture, and maximizes nutrient absorption.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long does the treatment take?
Each session takes 45–60 minutes depending on area and cocktail. Large areas may take longer.

2. How many sessions will I need?
Typically, 3–6 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart give the best results. We’ll build your plan based on your skin goals.

3. Does it hurt?
Some discomfort is normal, but we offer numbing cream if needed. Most clients describe the sensation as warm and slightly prickly.

4. When will I see results?
Many see glow and firmness after the first session. Collagen production continues for weeks – and deeper results like texture or pigmentation improve gradually with multiple sessions.

5. Are there side effects?
Mild redness, warmth or swelling are common for a few hours after. It fades quickly and we guide you with aftercare.

6. Can I wear makeup after?
Wait at least 24–48 hours before applying makeup. Let your skin breathe and focus on nourishment.

7. Can I do this year-round?
Yes – but SPF is essential. We adjust your treatment plan if you have sun exposure ahead.

8. Who should avoid microneedling?
Not suitable for:

  • Active acne or skin infections

  • Uncontrolled rosacea

  • Certain autoimmune skin conditions

  • Those on blood thinners

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

9. Can I treat more than one area?
Yes! You can combine areas like face + neck, and/or decolte. Price is per area, and cocktails are adapted.

10. Do I have to buy a package?
No. You can try one session first – but we recommend packages for visible, lasting results (and you save!).
